National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics – Full Committee Meeting
The National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics was established by Congress to serve as an advisory body to the Department of Health and Human Services on health data, statistics and national health information policy. It fulfills important review and advisory functions relative to health data and statistical problems of national and international interest, stimulates or conducts studies of such problems and makes proposals for improvement of the Nation’s health statistics and information systems.

2014 SAMHSA Voice Awards

Upon completion of the symposium, participants will be able to: 1. Describe how homosexuality and gender issues have been historically viewed by mental health organizations; 2. Identify common mental health disparities for members of LGBTQ communities; 3. Explicate the current theory for the development of these disparities; 4. List and explain the main areas of current LGBTQ mental and behavioral health research; 5. Identify research deficits and an agenda for future research necessary to mitigate these deficits.
