Meeting of Society for Personality and Social Psychology
This symposium will bring together psychophysiologists, health psychologists, and public health researchers that study chronic physiological stress and health outcomes as a function of discrimination experiences or prejudicial attitudes. As such, the symposium will feature multi-method and interdisciplinary approaches thatshow that prejudice is not good for anyone: neither the victims nor the perpetrators. Dr. Mays will present: “A Double-Edged Sword: How Prejudice Affects Chronic Stress and Health for Both Targets and Perceivers.”

National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics Meeting,
This national committee advises the Department of Health and Human Services Data Council on health data, statistics, privacy, national health information policy, and strategies to best address these issues. Dr. Mays was appointed by the House of Representatives to be a member of the Full Committee, Populations Subcommittee and Privacy and Confidentiality Subcommittee.
